Folk music and dancing
In the evening of our first day in Budapest, we were entertained by a troupe of traditional Hungarian folk musicians and dancers. He's playing a cimbalom, a traditional Hungarian instrument that's a type of hammered dulcimer. He seemed to be extremely good at it.
Traditional dancers.
The cimbalom player even played while blindfolded.
Night cruise on the Danube
Our ship left the dock and cruised up the Danube past the Parliament building and back down again, past a beautiful display of lighted buildings and bridges.Above the bridge is the castle, where we were this morning.
The Parliament building.
Heading downstream again.
A fine ending to the day. Tomorrow: a visit to the large market near our ship's dock, and an excursion into the Hungarian countryside.
